Welcome to Kotor, the Pearl of Boka Kotorska Bay in Montenegro

The pearl of Boka Kotorska Bay (in Montenegro) is charming town: Kotor. Included in UNESCO, the World Heritage List, for its urban architecture, cultural heritage and beautiful natural setting.

A town over 2000 years old, it's a true treasure trove of cultural monuments (St.Tripuna's Cathedral, St. Luke's Church, numerous palaces of the nobility of Kotor) and a source of rich museum and archive material. The town squares and streets of Kotor provide open stages for many traditional events. The calm sea of the bay are ideal for many nautical sports.

I enjoyed the tour of the Old town and watching numerous local cats, one of the symbols of this city and I was particularly fascinated by the hiking adventure to the city fortress- City Walls of Kotor where I made magnificent photos of the amazing Kotor's viewpoints.

The masterpiece of fortification architecture, the City Walls, protected Kotor from the invaders over the centuries. Since the position of Kotor was strategically important for all those military forces whose rulers had pretencions to the territories located on the east coast of the Adriatic Sea, there was a noticeable reason why it was necessary to protect it. Besides walls that protected the city there is also a stone staircase to the fortification St. Rocco and the Church of Our Lady of Remedy. The main part of the walls was built between the 13th and 14th century, when Kotor was under Venetian rule. During the longest period when the Republic of Venice reigned over Kotor, many battles broke out with the Ottoman Empire, whose territories were not far from Kotor, but the city remained unassailable.

Koji divni vidici i pogled sa tvrđave. Kotor je prekrasan! Grad pun povijesti i ljepote. Stari dio grada izgleda tako očuvan, sigurna sam da je divota prošetati kod njega. More, sunce, pogled na planine...kud ćeš bolje?
Ti si prekrasna u toj bijeloj haljinici. Jako ženstvena i lijepa ljetna kombinacija.
